Are you ready for spring? Do you have any spring rituals or routines?
Truthfully, I’m sad that winter is ending. I know, that is probably a shocking and unpopular opinion.
But I love fall and winter, and I get sad when those seasons end.
That said, as we get closer to spring’s official start, I am getting more excited to embrace and romanticize this season!

Why Romanticize Spring?
First off, it’s important to address why we want to romanticize spring.
I recently had a conversation with my roommate about being present with the seasons.
To me, romanticizing the seasons means taking every opportunity to appreciate and make the most of each season. I find that living more mindfully and intentionally makes life feel more meaningful.
This is a great way to stay present and make your life feel extra special and enjoyable.
Read this post to learn simple, actionable ways to romanticize your life this spring.
Seek Inspiration
The first step to romanticizing spring is to seek inspiration. Learning how other people like to romanticize a season makes me feel inspired to do the same. So, if you are reading this post, you are already one step ahead!
These are some YouTube videos I watched for additional spring inspiration.
Darling Desi, one of my favorite inspiration sources for romanticizing the seasons, shared an interesting reflection, which is that she started romanticizing the seasons as a way to cope with her mental health.
This resonated with me and made me realize that I also use these practices to feel a sense of comfort.
Make a Mood Board
A mood board is a collection of images that captures a particular feeling. It is kind of like a vision board, but focused more on vibes than concrete goals. Making a mood board with images that you associate with spring is a great way to embrace the season. You can look at those images anytime you want to re-ground yourself this season.
Of course, Pinterest is a great resource for this.
Find images that make you feel inspired for spring and save them to a Pinterest Board.

Some ideas for keywords you can search: “Spring,” “Spring Aesthetic,” “Spring Vibes,” “Spring Mood Board.”
Make this your phone/computer wallpaper, print it out and hang it up, and/or just look at it anytime you want to feel inspired!
Make a Bucket List
Seasonal bucket lists also help you get excited about a season. And setting specific intentions ahead of time makes you more likely to accomplish the things you want to do this spring. You can use this post as inspiration for activities to add to your spring bucket list!

Spring Fashion
When I think of spring fashion, I think of long, flowy skirts and dresses. I’ve already been experimenting with incorporating more skirts and dresses into my wardrobe, instead of wearing my standard leggings every day. This makes me feel so girly, and I love it!
Eat Spring Foods
Eating seasonal foods is one of the simplest ways to embrace any season.
Fresh fruit
I always love fresh fruit, and something about it feels very much like spring. Especially fresh berries!

Girl Scout Cookies
I don’t know if anyone else feels this way, but, to me, Girl Scout Cookies = spring. It totally makes sense, because Girl Scout Cookie season is in spring, so now I have that association whenever I taste them.
Plus, I get so nostalgic everytime I eat them, since I was a Girl Scout when I was little. I remember walking around my neighborhood with my best friend and her mom, selling cookies.
If you haven’t already, pick up a box or two from your local Girl Scout troop!
Cook/Bake Spring Recipes
If you associate any foods with spring, now is a good time to cook or bake those.
If you want some inspiration, go on Pinterest and search “Spring Recipes.”

Here are suggestions for activities you can do this spring.
Spend time in nature
Take some time to enjoy the outdoors and nicer weather.

Take Walks
I love taking walks in general. And once the weather is nice and I get to go for walks, enjoy the sunshine, and see pretty flowers blooming, I get an instant serotonin boost.
Picnics
A picnic is a fun and easy activity. Grab some friends and enjoy your favorite snacks outside.

Have a Tea Party
I’ve been very interested in the idea of having a tea party. That sounds like such a cute spring activity. You could have a tea party with friends or a solo tea party. I’m envisioning putting on a pretty dress, drinking tea out of a floral cup, and enjoying some pastries.
Read Outside
Reading outside is a nostalgic activity for connecting with your inner child. Feeling the sun on your skin while reading a good book is a recipe for happiness!
Go to the park
I love the park. A park day is a fun, wholesome activity to do with friends or on your own. This is a good place to have your picnic, read outside, or just hang out when you want a change of scenery.

Cozy Hobbies
In my opinion, it is always the right season for cozy hobbies.

⚘Crochet
I’m continuing my quest to become a master crocheter. If you also crochet, or are interested in starting, you can look up Spring Crochet Projects on YouTube or Pinterest for fun, seasonal projects.
⚘Paint
Don’t think that you need great art skills to paint. I just like to make small watercolors sometimes for fun. Even if you think you “aren’t good at art,” doing crafts is still fun and soothing.

I usually find an image online as inspiration and do my best to redraw it. Painting these flowers made me feel excited for spring and inspired to do crafts more often.
⚘Garden
I don’t know anything about gardening, but if this is something you are interested in, start a garden this spring.
Make Your Home Feel Like Spring
Use these tips to fill your home with spring vibes.

Fresh flowers
Putting fresh flowers in your home has to go first on this list. Whether you grow your own flowers, buy flowers from the grocery store, or pick some at a local farm, fresh flowers will surely elevate your space for spring.

Spring scents
⚘Candles
Search for spring-scented candles. Think fruity and floral scents. I know I’m excited to burn my mandarin-scented candle.
⚘Perfumes
Start using light, floral and fruity perfumes. It’s amazing how something as simple as wearing a certain fragrance can impact your mood.
Spring Aesthetics
I’m not entirely sure how to best explain internet aesthetics, so hopefully you already know what I’m talking about. Basically, there are different aesthetics that people associate with online. I find Cottage Core and Light Academia to be the most in line with spring.

Look up “Cottage Core” and “Light Academia” on Google/Pinterest/YouTube/TikTok for inspiration on how you can incorporate these aesthetics into your fashion and home decor.
Spring Entertainment
Spring-themed book, movie, and tv show inspiration. Disclaimer: most of these are suggestions I got from others and haven’t read or watched yet. But I still wanted to share the inspiration.

Spring Books, Movies, and TV Shows
⚘Anne of Green Gables by Lucy Maud Montgomery
⚘The Cottage Tales of Beatrix Potter by Susan Wittig Albert
⚘Beatrix Potter’s Gardening Life: The Plants and Places That Inspired the Classic Children’s Tales by Marta McDowell
⚘Take Joy! The Magical World of Tasha Tudor
⚘Emma by Jane Austen
I said multiple times in past posts that I associate classic literature with fall and winter. I stand by that. But there is something very spring-like about Jane Austen’s novels as well. Especially if you watch any of the film/tv show adaptations. The characters wear beautiful dresses that feel perfect for spring.
⚘The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett
⚘The Sound of Music
⚘The Great British Baking Show

Spring playlists
I love a good, curated Spotify playlist. Lately I’ve been listening to a light academia calming piano playlist to set the vibe.
(I’m currently listening to this while writing.)
Slow Living
According to Slow Living LDN, “Slow living is a mindset whereby you curate a more meaningful and conscious lifestyle that’s in line with what you value most in life.” Doesn’t that just sound lovely?
Slow living is about living mindfully and savoring life, instead of rushing and trying to do too much.
Slow living is a mindset shift, not a quick fix. But, I wanted to share this concept, because slow living can really help those of us interested in romanticizing life and enjoying life as much as possible. If that sounds good to you, you might want to do some more research into slow living.
