Embrace Your Daily Joys: One Simple Tip for Living a Happier Life

This is my one simple tip for living a happier life: identify and appreciate your daily joys.

Daily Joys:

These are the little everyday moments that make you smile. These moments can easily go unnoticed.

But, just like exercising a muscle, the more you intentionally recognize it, the more you strengthen your awareness of your life’s joyful moments.

I went on a walk and saw this sidewalk chalk that said, “What made you smile today?”

I thought that was such a good reminder to check in with yourself and acknowledge everything that makes you happy.

These are some of the things that made me smile this past week:

◇Seeing my parents

My parents stopped by for a quick visit last weekend, so I got to spend some time with them.

As a bonus, I got to check out their super cute hotel.

And spending time in cute places also makes me smile!

◇My Mama bought me tulips from Trader Joe’s.

◇Seeing Ponyo with a friend

Our local indie theater was showing Ponyo, and a friend invited me to watch it.

Seeing a cute movie with a good friend was definitely a mood booster!

◇Limoncello La Croix

Something you should know about me, is I love my evening La Croix. And Limoncello is one of my current favorite flavors.

◇Veronica Mars

Veronica Mars is my current comfort show.

Watching a good show gives me something to look forward to every day.

◇Lunch in Paris by Elizabeth Bard

I’m re-reading Lunch in Paris by Elizabeth Bard.

This is a memoir about an American woman who falls in love with a French man and moves to France.

I love that I’m loving reading again!

◇Cats

I love cats, but I don’t feel ready to own one. So I volunteer at the cat shelter as a compromise.

◇Nice weather

The weather is finally getting nice.

I enjoy soaking up some sun during my afternoon walks.

◇Dates and dried figs

I’m really enjoying dates and dried figs.

Just like a good show, a good snack gives your day a little excitement.

Your mindset is so important to your well-being, and expressing gratitude for the (seemingly) small moments makes a huge difference in your outlook.
