September is here, and I am so excited to embrace cozy season! Fall is one of my favorite seasons, and I know many others feel the same.
Although the first day of fall is technically September 22, I’m already embracing the autumn vibes.
Two things to know about me:
🤎 I love romanticizing life.
🤎 I love a plan.
It only makes sense to welcome September by creating a plan to romanticize the fall. This is a good intro to the fall content I’m planning (think cozy vlogs, recipe inspiration, and more).
Romanticizing the fall is my favorite way to make the most of my life and fully appreciate everything this season offers.

Why Romanticize Life?
Why romanticize life, you ask? Romanticizing life is an opportunity to improve your quality of life through finding joy in the details and appreciating life’s beauty. Adopting some small habits and mindset shifts can make life’s mundane moments feel special and memorable. Romanticizing life makes life feel more exciting and helps me a lot with my mental health.
I hope this post guides you to feel your best and fully embrace everything this season offers.
Grab a cozy blanket and a warm beverage, and let’s dive into this guide to romanticizing your life this fall.

Fall Bucket List
Let’s dive into some Fall Bucket List ideas to romanticize this season.
First, let’s create the fall atmosphere with some autumnal entertainment options.
Fall Entertainment
Fall Watch List
From warm, nostalgic settings to seasonal themes, some movies and shows just feel like fall. These are some of the movies/shows I want to watch this season. (Note that this is for general fall vibes. Spooky Season gets its own dedicated watch list!)
🍂 Little Women
🍂 Jane Eyre
🍂 Pride and Prejudice
🍂 Gilmore Girls
What are your favorite fall movies/shows?

Create a Fall TBR
Getting cozy, lighting candles, and reading sounds like a perfect fall activity to me. Similarly to movies and shows, some books fit perfectly with fall, especially the classics. I know I want to read the copy of Jane Eyre that my grandma gave me. Truman Capote’s short story, The Thanksgiving Visitor, is also a must-read around Thanksgiving.

Consume Fall Content
Consuming seasonal content is another great way to get yourself in the fall spirit.

Listen to Fall Playlists
Spotify and YouTube have good, curated playlists to fit almost any vibe. Find a playlist that captures the fall mood (or create one yourself). A curated playlist can transform almost any activity into a romanticized, fall activity.
Fall Outings
In addition to getting cozy at home, you can also plan some fun, seasonal autumnal adventures.
Apple Picking
Partaking in seasonal activities is a great way to feel like you made the most of a season.
I am excited to continue my tradition of apple picking with my friends. If you want to do this classic autumnal activity, see if you have a local farm where you can pick your own apples.

Pumpkin Patch/Farm Stand
Going to the pumpkin patch is another staple fall outing. I have a cute farm near me where I can buy some pumpkins, along with local produce. I know this will make another fun, fall outing.
Attend Local Events
See if any seasonal events, like a fall festival, are happening near you. I love attending local events with my friends.

Fall Flavors
Seasonal flavors offer a surefire way to get yourself in the fall spirit.

Take a Trip to Trader Joe’s
Exploring Trader Joe’s and seeing all their seasonal goodies is such a fun part of the season. It really is the little things that make me happy.

Fall Coffee
I have two coffee shop gift cards. What a perfect opportunity to treat myself to some yummy fall-flavored beverages.
Take yourself to your favorite coffee shop and savor a delicious seasonal drink.
Make Fall-Inspired Recipes
Fall flavors are some of my favorites. I am excited to base my meals around these yummy, seasonal flavors, from various squashes to warming spice blends.
This is the perfect time of year to break out my Dutch Oven. I know I want to make some sort of chili with fall spices (keep an eye out for when I post that recipe). I’ve also created a list of quintessential seasonal ingredients and flavors to get more ideas started.
Fall Recipe Inspiration:
🍂 Butternut squash
🍂 Spaghetti squash
🍂 Delicata squash
🍂 Pumpkin
🍂 Heirloom tomatoes
🍂 Cinnamon
🍂 Pumpkin spice
What are your favorite fall flavors?

Drink Tea
I love the thought of making myself a cup of tea, yet I rarely do it. So, I want to make a point to unwind with a cup of tea before bed for maximum coziness.

Practice Mindfulness
Practicing mindfulness is key to embracing a season. Going into autopilot mode can make you lose track of what is happening around you. Remaining present can help you avoid feeling like you missed out on this season’s special moments.
Lately, I’ve noticed that I haven’t been feeling present. My mind feels more scattered than I would like. Many people consider autumn a time to slow down and go inward, making this season a great opportunity to work on self-reflection and mindfulness.
Living in the present moment is important, but it is also easier said than done. Luckily, you can implement some simple strategies in your daily life to feel more grounded and present. Here is how I plan to practice mindfulness this fall.
Fall Mindfulness Practices:
🤎 Focus on the task in front of you.
🤎 Take deep breaths.
🤎 Meditate.
🤎 Express gratitude for the season.
🤎 Pay attention to your five senses as you participate in fun, fall activities.
DIY Fall Decor
Decorating for fall not only makes your space look nice but surrounding yourself with cute, thematic items is a simple way to help you feel cozy and embrace fall.
I plan to fill my space with cute, homemade fall decor. I started a Pinterest board as inspiration for the decorations I want to make.
If you don’t want to go the DIY route, you can also search for seasonal decor at a thrift store. Stores like TJ Maxx, 5 Below, and Dollar Tree are also good places to find affordable home decor this fall.

Burn Fall Candles
Burning fall-scented candles makes your space feel cozier and helps keep you in the seasonal mood.
Plan Your Holiday Gifts
Give yourself a head start on planning holiday gifts to minimize stress around the holiday season.
My dream is to make homemade gifts for my friends and family. For the past two years, I have put that off until the last minute, leaving myself disappointed that I ran out of time. So this year, I intend to start making holiday gifts in advance.
My first step is to look on Pinterest to get DIY gift ideas. If I work on these gifts slowly over the next few months, I can have everything ready by the holidays.

Take Online Classes
I miss learning. I have been wanting to take online classes for a long time. And back-to-school season has me feeling inspired again. There are so many free educational resources available online. I just need to pick a course and get started.
If you are also interested in gaining more knowledge, please join me in furthering your education this season! A good place to start is to set a small, attainable goal, such as finishing one course by the end of the season.
Free Continuing Education Resources:
🍂 Alison.com – Free, self-paced online courses.
🍂 Coursera.org – Free, self-paced online courses.
🍂 Local Library – Your local library might offer workshops or classes. Plus, there are a lot of amazing educational resources you can get access to through having a library card. I definitely recommend signing up for a library card (if you don’t have one already) and taking advantage of those resources.
