How to Make Spring Feel Cozy

Coziness is self-care. It’s more than warm blankets and fireplaces. It’s about finding comfort in the small moments and creating a life that feels good. And that is something you can do any time of year.

My content focuses on creating a life you love and finding joy in the little things. Part of that comes from being present with the seasons. As winter slowly fades out and we prepare to welcome spring, we are invited to contemplate how we want life to look and feel this season. For my fellow cozy lifestyle lovers, this can include envisioning how we want to bring cozy elements into our days.

This blog post provides some simple ways to embrace spring coziness:

Ways to Make Spring Feel Cozy

Make Intentional Choices

Create your dream cozy life by making intentional choices.

Think about small actions you can take that would make your daily habits and routines feel cozier. This can be anything from wearing your favorite flowy dress while running errands to lighting a spring-scented candle while you sit and read.

Spring Ambience

Start by setting the vibe. YouTube has so many amazing Spring Ambience videos with visuals and audio that make it feel like spring.

Spring Playlists, like this one, make me feel peaceful, happy, and focused.

Romanticize Your Life

Romanticizing life and romanticizing the seasons are simple ways to make life feel more exciting and enjoyable.

Romanticizing spring and making spring feel cozy go hand in hand. What is more romantic and cozy than spending a spring day savoring fresh fruit, feeling the sun on your skin, drinking a light tea, and reading a Jane Austin novel?

Slow Down

Life is meant to be savored and enjoyed. Too many of us are rushing through life in fight-or-flight mode. This is something I’ve been combating by choosing to slow down and be present whenever possible. I’ve even started waking up a few minutes earlier to enjoy a slower morning routine before work.

Make a Spring Bucket List.

Making a spring bucket list is a great way to feel inspired for a new season.

Just remember to view your bucket list as a collection of fun, optional activities. Don’t put pressure on yourself to complete everything on your list, as that will not feel enjoyable (speaking from experience).

Check out this Substack article for activities to get you into the spring mindset:

Spend Time Outside

Take advantage of the nice weather by spending time outside. Just a few minutes can lift your mood. Going for an afternoon walk while the sun is out is one of the highlights of my day.

If the weather is nice, you can even read outside or go for a picnic.

Open the Window

When you’re not outdoors, make sure to open your window to welcome in the fresh air and sunshine. It is such a small step, but an open window makes my whole apartment feel different. As I write this, I can hear the birds chirping in the distance, letting me know I’m on the right path.

Cook/Bake

Spending time in the kitchen cooking and baking seasonal treats is peak coziness. Baking bread is an especially cozy spring activity. While I haven’t yet mastered sourdough, I’m excited to keep experimenting with it. And, there are some sourdough discard recipes that I’m looking forward to baking this spring.

Consume Spring Content

There is nothing like good content to get you in the seasonal mindset. This can be books,

movies, TV shows, social media content, music, or any other form of media (ideally a combination).

I’ve got the reading bug, and there are so many books I want to read this spring.

I finally started Anne of Green Gables, and it feels so perfect for this time of year. The natural imagery and simple life fit this season’s vibe.

Fresh Cut Flowers

Looking at flowers brings so much joy. Trader Joe’s always has beautiful flowers to fill your space with a touch of spring. Finding a local farm that sells flowers is another fun, cozy option.

I hope this post inspires you to live a cozy life this spring. What activities are you looking forward to this season? Leave a comment to inspire others.
