Many of us want to be happy and to enjoy life. But being happy is not something that you achieve passively. Happiness, joy, and fulfillment come from the active choices you make every day.
I’ve come to realize that daily joyful moments create the foundation for a joyful life. One Saturday morning, as soon as I started making my coffee, my brain instantly zoomed off into thinking about all of the other tasks on my to-do list. When I snapped back into the present moment and realized I hadn’t been paying attention to what I was doing, I remembered my intention to live more slowly and mindfully.
Appreciating everyday experiences amplifies the beauty in life and balances out the harder moments. If you are seeking to live a life that feels good, I highly recommend incorporating joy into your daily routines.

Ways to Create Daily Joyful Moments
Make an Active Choice to Seek Joy Every Day
Creating a life you love is an active pursuit. Your dream life won’t magically unfold before you. It’s something you continuously work at creating. Every day, you get to wake up and choose to be excited about the little moments.
I randomly found this video one day, and I’m so glad I did.
Despite all of the negativity in the world, we can still live joyful, fulfilling lives and enjoy meaningful experiences.
Move Slowly
Finding joy in the little things means slowing down and savoring your experiences. It means appreciating what could easily be taken for granted, like feeling the sun on your skin or sharing a laugh with a loved one.
We go through so much of our lives on autopilot, racing around trying to accomplish big tasks, like meeting work deadlines, achieving personal goals, and keeping our homes in order. But when we become so monofocused, we miss out on small moments of beauty all around us.

Change your perspective
Our thoughts control our realities. You can literally change an experience by changing the way you think about it.
This is simple, but not easy, as seeing the good things in life doesn’t always come naturally.
For a lot of my life, I’ve struggled with negative thoughts. In a twisted way, worrying felt productive, as if it were keeping me prepared. Thankfully, I realized that isn’t how I want to live, and I started correcting that mindset.

Practice Gratitude
Gratitude is a powerful practice. The more you notice and appreciate joyful moments, the more of those moments you start to see.
The goal isn’t to feel positive every day. That isn’t realistic, and that is okay. Not every moment is joyful.
Looking for moments of joy doesn’t erase moments of pain. But it can give them less weight.
When I practice gratitude and look for good things around me, I feel more grounded and at peace, which is lovely.
Give yourself things to look forward to
Having something to look forward to makes life extra enjoyable. These can be small, simple things!
Start Small
This might feel daunting, but it doesn’t need to be. You are not going to reinvent your life overnight.
Start small. Tiny moments of joy each day build up into a joyful life.
