Cozy Fall Entertainment – Music, Book, TV Show, and Movie Inspiration For Fall Vibes

Fall is a mindset and a lifestyle. I am currently preoccupied with daydreaming every way I can romanticize the fall season while offering tips to help others do the same. That is how much I love the cozy lifestyle. My mission here is to help others who also love that lifestyle find ways to embrace the coziness and make the most of the fall season.

Making the most of fall means emphasizing the details and incorporating seasonal elements into as many aspects of your life as possible. Some TV shows, movies, music, and books just fit the fall vibe. Those who get it, get it. I wanted to create a guide with suggestions for cozy fall music, books, TV shows, and movies to help you get into the cozy fall mood.

Cozy Music For Fall Vibes

Background music is such a good way to create a nice ambiance for yourself. I love selecting a playlist that fits the specific mood I’m feeling at the moment. Spotify and YouTube have good options for this.

Autumn Jazz

Search Autumn Jazz on Spotify and you’ll find lots of great playlists you can keep on in the background.

I also like to search “Autumn Jazz Bookstore” or “Autumn Jazz Coffee Shop” on YouTube for comforting background videos.

Classic Rock

I’ve been rediscovering my love of classic rock. This music is so nostalgic, which fits well with the fall vibe.

Lofi

Lofi videos on YouTube are also great for creating ambiance. You can find a lot of themed background videos, which are nice to keep on while you are working, studying, or just hanging out.

Cozy Book Genres for Fall Vibes

Classics

Classic literature feels like fall to me. Think Jane Austen, Ernest Hemingway, F. Scott Fitzgerald. Those types of books. In other words, books you would read in AP Literature. I’m currently reading Emma by Jane Austen. While the plot itself doesn’t have anything to do with fall, cozying up with a Jane Austen novel and a fall candle feels very autumnal.

Romance

I have been making my way through some of Emily Henry’s books (when they finally become available in Libby). While I typically think of those types of books as “beach reads,” they also work well for cozy autumn nights.

Nostalgic books

Even though I have been out of school for 2 years, fall still feels like back-to-school season. That level of nostalgia pairs well with re-reading childhood favorites. This was a suggestion I found while researching for my How to Fall (Back) in Love With Reading article. Nancy Drew was one of my favorite series growing up, so I think re-reading one of those books would be fun.

Cozy TV Shows For Fall Vibes

Gilmore Girls

I don’t think there is any argument against Gilmore Girls being a classic fall show. Everything about Stars Hollow: the background music, the outfits, Rory’s books. It just all adds up to fall. Quite honestly, this is the only show I strongly associated with fall. The others on this list are suggestions from others. But I completely agree that these are fall shows.

Gossip Girl

In one of her recent episodes, Lana (host of the Lovely With Lana podcast) referenced watching Gossip Girl as a fall show. I never thought about that, but I get it.

Friends

I haven’t rewatched Friends in a while, but it’s a good background show. I think it’s the nostalgia of 90s shows that makes them fit the cozy fall theme.

Pretty Little Liars

My best friend and I were just recently talking about rewatching Pretty Little Liars. This is a good show for Spooky Season since it had very creepy moments.

Scooby Doo

I loved Scooby Doo growing up. It was probably my favorite childhood show. I remember watching it with my brother and my cousins. So when Desi mentioned rewatching it, I thought that was a brilliant idea. I’ve been playing Scooby Doo in the background while writing this post, and it is making me so happy.

Cozy Movies For Fall Vibes

It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown

A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving

I mentioned the Charlie Brown specials in my Fall Bucket List post. They get honorable mention here as well. I don’t think I need to explain why these belong on the Fall watchlist.

The Addams Family

The Addams Family (the 1991 version) is one of my favorite Halloween movies. Although it isn’t about Halloween, This film has a bit of a Halloween vibe. Plus it is super zany, wacky, and fun.

Heathers

While Heathers also isn’t technically a Halloween movie, it is definitely creepy and fits well with Spooky Season.

Classic Films

If you have a library card, or if you are a college student, you likely get access to films from Kanopy. This movie streaming service has a lot of classic films you can throw on in the background for a cozy activity.

Seek Out Fall Inspiration Content

Consuming content about fall helps you get into the fall mindset. In addition to reviewing all of my Cozy Fall Inspiration blog posts, you can watch some of these cozy fall-themed YouTube videos:

Desi makes an important point that I need to keep reminding myself of. Fall “flies by so fast” and it is good to start doing fall activities “sooner rather than later.” I know I tend to brainstorm exciting ideas, but then put them off. Next thing I know, the season has passed. So I’m trying to prevent that from happening this year.

Additional Fall Vibes

Fall is in the details. Include these elements as part of your cozy fall hangouts for ultimate cozy vibes! Paying attention to details is how to get yourself in the seasonal mindset.

Here are some elements you can add to any activity to maximize the cozy fall vibes:

Candles

Blankets

Crafts

Comfy clothes
